El Cajon Murder โ Life Without Parole: Davarold Jucynn Zeno, 25, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder of a man in El Cajon. Zeno was found guilty by an El Cajon jury. A co-defendant in the killing had previously been convicted as well.
Christian Youth Theater Employee Pleads Guilty: David Hott, 39, a former employee of Christian Youth Theater โ which operates programs across San Diego County including in the East County area โ pleaded guilty to a sex crime involving a teen. Hott is one of several former CYT employees who have faced either criminal or civil proceedings related to sexual abuse allegations. His sentencing date has not yet been announced.
Lemon Grove Transit Center Robbery Arrests: Two men and a juvenile were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Massachusetts Avenue Transit Center in Lemon Grove that occurred Oct. 12, 2025. The arrests came after an investigation by the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Jamul Shooting Victim Dies at Fire Station: A man shot in the 16000 block of Loose Creek Road in Jamul early Wednesday died after arriving at an Alpine Fire Protection District station in need of emergency help. Deputies initially responded to the scene but found no victim; the man had made his way to the fire station, where emergency personnel attempted lifesaving measures. Sheriff's homicide detectives investigated the circumstances. Authorities said the incident appeared isolated, with no ongoing public threat.
